Saladino’s Inc. is a premiere food service distributor based in the Central Valley, serving the entire state of California, parts of Nevada, and Idaho. They have been in business since 1944; today they employ about 450 staff.
Saladino’s has multiple sites throughout California with locations in Fresno, Ontario, and Sacramento. They came to Telcion with two main issues to address:
- Improve communications between sites, and
- Reduce travel-related costs (which included several people traveling back and forth from Fresno to Ontario multiple times per month).
Additionally, they desired to improve communications with outside third parties, including clients and their corporate attorneys in San Diego.
Telcion installed 3 Cisco HD video units (60” displays with 4x zoom cameras) in the main conference room at each of the three sites. These units were then paired with the Cisco Webex Telepresence Cloud service.
Saladino’s was able to make video calls within 20 minutes of unboxing the equipment. The Telepresence cloud service enabled the endpoints to have full telepresence video capabilities, including the ability to make calls with third party endpoints.
Saladino’s is now able to easily communicate between facilities as well as outside third parties, having more virtual in-person meetings than ever before. They have significantly reduced the need for travel between sites, which in turn has given them substantial savings in time and money.
