Expertise—Always ON the Leading Edge
Something we’ve spent a lot of time discussing internally is whether we want to position Telcion as being on the bleeding, cutting, or leading edge. It seems like a fuss over semantics, but slight changes in language have a real effect on real life situations.
I’ve often described Telcion as providing 2.0 solutions rather than 1.0 solutions. In our experience, brand-new technology out to our clients is often full of bugs and fails to deliver on product promises. It can be exciting and flashy to have the latest new toy but sometimes jumping in early can lead to diminished organizational effectiveness. Instead, we try to wait until a couple versions of that product have been released and then start rolling it out to people who can benefit from it. This means that you get to take advantage of development and innovation without as much risk to your organization. Where cutting or bleeding edge organizations might take a risk with untested products, we ensure that we are putting our own stamp of tried-and-true experience behind everything we roll out to our clients.
This philosophy puts us on the leading edge: ahead of the curve, but not so hasty that we cause more harm than good. We’re constantly monitoring changes, innovations, and trends in the technology industry, and act as a filter between new technologies and our clients. If we see its value, we will wholeheartedly recommend it. If we’re skeptical, we’ll tell you as much.
