Energy, Expertise, and Empathy: Telcion’s Core Purposes and Driving Mission

‍ ‍

When we first started Telcion, our purpose was simple: share great technology with our customers (and stay in business!). Over time, something became very clear to us: technology is only as valuable as the people and principles behind it. If we understand what our purpose is, we can stand out from the other companies in the IT space.

I have spent a long time defining and digging into our core values: transparency, curiosity, work ethic, and selflessness. These values define our culture, inform how we hire/manage personnel, decide new product/service offerings, and guide the direction and trajectory of our organization. While our core values are essential to defining who we are, I have felt they don’t provide the necessary clarity for why we do what we do.

The leadership team and I went through a soul-searching process to discern and define what our core purpose is. And after some careful thought, we finally can put it to words:

‍ ‍

We're called to serve those that serve our communities — keeping people on purpose, services on demand, and systems on the leading edge.

‍ ‍

The organizations we work with are doing real work impacting real people. Our job is ensuring technology never gets in the way of that mission.

Our communities are spread all over the world. Whether we’re serving an international client or working with a team member in a different state, the work we do takes place in hundreds of different cities and communities. We serve those that serve our communities, and the effect is far-reaching.

There are lot of people who are distracted in this world—we keep them on purpose. We put people over profit so the bottom line is never more important than impacting lives.

Energy means 24/7 support, even when it’s inconvenient. Our clients rely on technology, and it’s our job to keep those systems online at all times.

Our expertise brings life changing value —keeping your organization on the leading edge. That way technology serves your organization, not chaining it down.

To deliver on this purpose, we've built our work around three guiding values: Energy, Expertise, and Empathy. Over the next few weeks, we will be diving into each of these values to explore more about what it means to be ON.
